Diamond knows that a rising tide lifts all boats. That’s why she co-sponsored a variety of legislation that would directly improve the economy for everyone, most notably the Working Families Act which reinstated the Child Tax Credit, raised the minimum wage, increased the maximum income eligibility for the “homestead exemption”, created a homebuyers’ assistance program, and enacted paid family leave. Diamond’s record is clear, you can count on her to fight for the economy we all need.

Diamond has spent her first term in the NC House delivering on vocational rehabilitation programs as seen in House Bills 323 and 853, ensuring investments in women- and minority-owned businesses, and fighting for economic opportunity for individuals with disabilities like in House Bills 580 and 583.

Diamond is committed to working families in Cabarrus County. She knows what it’s like to struggle to make ends meet, which is why she knows our current minimum wage (which hasn’t increased since 2009) needs an increase. On two separate occasions (House Bills 569 and 620), Diamond fought for an increased minimum wage of $15/hour because she knows this is how we grow the middle class.
